| The Spectator I am a spectator Of this game we call life, An island of calm Amidst chaos. Once in a blue moon A player will fall, And I will take her to my island To heal her soul and body. I fill the gaps Left by others As I take the darkness away from her And make it my own. Her wounds healed, I let her go. She doesn’t look back; They never do. Bit by bit, My heart grows darker. Yet those that come in my presence Can only find light. I am the spectator, One that watches from the shadows. Remembered by none, Always alone. I am holding a knife; It’s pointed at my heart. 12 inches of steel; My key to freedom. My nearly black heart, Pierced by the cold metal, Becomes completely black For once and for all. I take my last breath, Wondering if anyone will remember But none does As I take darkness from this world... to oblivion.
